在tbc前夕的開啟黑暗之門事件中，有一個叫做「大元帥雷諾」(Lord Marshal Raynor)的人類NPC登場，與玩家們並肩作戰，對抗惡魔。
很明顯這個NPC玩了《星際爭霸》中吉姆·雷諾的梗，在星際爭霸里，雷諾是瑪·薩拉行星的Marshal(治安官)，在黑暗之門前，雷諾擁有同樣的Marshal職階，不過在這里，他是Lord Marshal，「大元帥」。但實際上，「大元帥」的英文原文是Grand Marshal，雷諾是Lord Marshal，比Grand Marshal更高級，所以也可以稱他為「元帥王」，所有的元帥都是他的手下，當然，在黑門前，他的身後也跟著一群暴風城元帥。暫時就不介紹雷諾的背景故事了。講一下「大元帥雷諾」在開門事件中的台詞，以及台詞中玩的各種梗。
